The story of a young girl, adrift in the world, trying to find a home. Following a family break-up, nine-year-old Lily goes to live with her gran. At the local beach, Lily discovers a whole new world that intrigues and delights her. And when she meets Oliver, a similarly troubled soul, she rediscovers the joys of friendship and begins to feel more at ease with herself and her new surroundings.
